THE SAFARICOM 7S

I attended the Safaricom Sevens this past weekend. As I have mentioned time and time again, I am a HUGE rugby fan!!There were a couple of events slotted for this past weekend, but my undying love for rugby led me there!!The weather has been super sunny lately and with the African print craze going on, I wore kitenge-print shorts, a slouchy vest, and brogues for the event.I carried a denim jacket that i wore later on in the night...

I wore a lot of Kenyan colored accessories in support of my country. This event was my highest patriotic moment; I felt the undying love and loyalty for my country!
I even had the flag painted on my face. If I could, my blood and insides would probably have been the colors of the Kenyan flag even!
 the Kenyan colored bracelets...
a closer look at the shorts, the vest, the pendant and a Tusker (proudly Kenyan)

Some of the games we watched,

part of the crowd....

We went to sign up on the I am proudly Kenyan(a peace initiative movement)

So many of my friends came looking fabulous (birds of a feather)

Miss Fiona in a two-toned  dress with ruffle details…

Miss Sheila in a striped dress and denim half-coat...

These guys are the brains behind LEDIDA FASHION WEAR,  these are just some of their designs. I had spotted their style from a mile way!!
I loved the African print on the denim shirt, I loved the shoes, his pants, his hair cut, the list is endless!!

a closer look at the print on the shirt and shoes

check out his coat and the shoes!!

check out his coat, the fedora hat….

More friends…

check out her sunglasses her hairstyle and neck piece...

Most men wear simply, especially the rugby players, like my friend Duncan below, the fitting Kenyan jersey, with black trousers. Simple yet stylish…

Later on in the night, my favorite bands performed at the after-party, I was in AWE!!
Camp Mulla on stage...
Sauti Sol on stage...

It was a marvelous weekend, now back to school!

Have an education filled week :-D

The Mingle

I attended the Mingle yesterday, it’s an event for networking and also it's the adults chance to relive their young days(I came a bit late though)
I’ve worn this skirt before, too much love I tell you!i love comfortable free fitting clothes.I picked this outfit,I knew I’d be up and about playing and the sun was out. The culotte's light material and color was just what i wanted.
Diva moments…

I like the unique African print. I was going for a print on print look, the striped top and African print culotte. The denim coat was just to give the outfit  a relaxed feel. The weather was too good to stay at home!(this photo was taken later on in the night, i spent a better part of the day playing)

I added this beaded headband, I’ve let my hair-cut grow out a little bit, I want to rock headbands before I go back to the barber.

Ever since my boda boda ride, I’ve acquired this new obsession for motor bikes. This was the shortest line and I definitely had to go on this one!I  was feeling so cool!ride or die chic(that was playing in my mind the whole time)

My friend Cate rocking it on the wheels...

everyone came looking fabulous and comfortable! i took a few  photos of my friends.

I loved Fiona's  coat, the cheetah prints detail on the elbow...

her purse with some snake-skin detail, her nails looked pretty too...

the sunglasses+ the coat + the lace top+ belt+the purse,

My other friend Alvin, I first loved the colored pants, the Ray Ban aviators, the denim shirt, the sweater

A closer look at the sweater details, layered on top of the denim shirt...

I am a big kwaito music fan!! The DJ started playing and we were on the dance area!

the alcohol started to check in at this point, we'd been drinking since we got to the event hehe

One of my favorite DJs on the wheels of steel...

I must say after here the booze was a bit too much, we ended up going to another club had drinks , and that was pretty much what my camera last saw!the bar counter...

It was a good night though!

great week ahead!

...of random days

I was having a rather random day, one of those days you wake up , pick an outfit like it and think…with just a nice pair of heels, I am reaaddyyy!! I have got to dress up a good one for this day!
I love Thursdays!!It’s my favorite day of the week, all kicking parties go down on Thursday! I ended up doing soo much, I met up with my cousin, had some ice cream and ended up going for a few drinks with friends.
I was itching to wear my new shoes, every time I opened my closet, it’s like they kept calling out to me!! I wore them with rugged grey pants, a slouchy yellow vest (I could not stop staring at my feet today, that super awesome excitement to rock new shoes!!)

There is so much history behind these pants, my lovely mother bought them some time back, they were actually a size too big; those pants that you hate on and actually do all sorts of massacre possible to. I ripped these pants myself, my first DIY attempt. The mom jeans high waist pants(the ugly high waist jeans old mothers are notorius for wearing) have been trending for a while now. Figured I could do something similar to these pants too.

i love the vest color and the button detail
i wore these earrings and my cool sunnies for accessories. i loved how the oufit looked on it's own, no need for too much accessories. the full look, complete with my red handbag...

This is the famous fountain of knowledge and you are not a student of the Univesity of Nairobi until you have taken a photo in front of it! Call me shady, but I have always wanted a pic here, perfect opportunity…
Then my friend.. looking lovely in her sheer blouse and shorts,

I especially loved her shoes all the embellishments!!

Steph looking pretty in her ruffle top and denim shorts

i loved these lovely pink earrings,

Then my long time bff, Kerry in his tusker tshirt and bottle (cool right?!)I have been meaning to get one of these for a long time now!!

I  had a fab time!

Fab weekend y’all

RUGBY!

I have mentioned before how I am a HUGE rugby fan! It is one of the few sports that I would sit down and actually watch and not just for the mere fact of admiring the players (but they do have great bodies I must say!) The weather was quite shifty so I settled for these printed harem pants and a denim shirt and brogues. The rugby stands tend to get very cold and windy (for some reason that I have never understood).

I love this pendant, I got it a while back, I love it so much I find myself wearing it every day! I did not wear much accessories, I like to keep it a little bit simpler when going for games. I thought the outfit a statement on its own.

A closer look at the printed harems…

The outfit was more like a balance; the pants are good for the heat due to its light material, and cold (well it’s a much better option as compared to a dress or shorts) the denim shirt, due to its thick material, is a bit warm as compared to a light tee (the reasons I compiled to avoid wearing a sweater hehe)

Some of the matches we watched...

One of my favorite teams…

As I was watching the game, some random kid came and sat next to me and talked to me like we’d been buddies all our life! When really it was his motive to ask me to buy him a mandazi! I even ended up taking this photo but I must hand it to the kid, he was quite clever for his age rather size (am not so good at estimating children’s ages)

My lovely friend, Sheila looking amazing as usual; rocking a girly-rugged look. I find her pants absolutely cool! alongside  the whole color-blocking going on!

F.Y.I my team won the match!

Have an amazing week,

SHOE FANCY

I am a self confessed shoe addict; I just can’t do without a good pair of heels! I had set out to buy a good pair of shoes exactly a week ago, sadly I did not find any. I have this thing; I like to start my week with a bang! I am not the conventional Monday loather. I think that beginning the week with a lot of enthusiasm sets my week on.
I wanted to but one of these babies they have been on  my mind for a long time now. I crave to have them its insane! Shoes, stilettos and wedges to be exact appeal to me in the most amazing way!

On that day, I was going for a grunge look, turban plus a denim half coat and the butt-wing vest. Its super comfy, perfect for my busy day. The weather was hot and the vest is so airy and spacey; I hate tight clothes on a hot day!

a closer look at the vest...

 fooling around

I finally came across these babies a week later, luckiest day ever!! I was in search of nude colored heels or bootie wedges. I have extremely busy days and wedges are fabulous yet comfortable (I can run in them hehe)

and also the don’t spoil that easily. I like to buy shoes that I actually will wear not something that will just look pretty in my closet.
How I’ll wear these wedges coming soon!
Have a fabulous week!

African Woman

This outfit just brings out the African vintage look. I accessorized today with a lot of African stuff, but the neck piece is what adds all the African to this outfit.
I love color! It just brightens up any day irrespective of my moods or circumstances.
Full look…

A closer look at the neck piece…
the peach coat, i heart it!!
