The GoDown Gig

Another of my favorite bands was performing earlier on today at the GoDown Arts centre. I love live band performances! In most cases I prefer live performance as compared to pre-recorded audios. I get to see and hear the real quality of the musician in a live performance than listening to a recorded one.
For the event,I wore light blue jeans, a floral blouse and Aldo oxfords. I consider it a safe look. It’s not too much for almost any occasion. I wore the Aldo oxfords to diva-rise (due to lack of a better word hehe) the look some more.

I accessorized with my statement neck piece (it never fails me) and vintage sunglasses I got a while back and the white structured bag...

I love the print on the blouse, the sheer in it; it was perfect for the heat…

I love the fit and color of the pants. It’s ripped a bit at the knee.

A closer look at the pants…

We found this drum lying around and decided to have it for the photo, cool right? Like a pretty-girl drummer thing going on hehe

I loved the details on the pants, the color and the shoes...

The event was actually in an auditorium, I was glad we didn’t have to stand,I was feeling rather drained from the excessive sunlight(don’t get me wrong, I LOVE hot weather)

The Villagers Band performing , I like how they coordinate their looks on stage…

Towards the end, they called out to people to dance and Cate being as fun-loving as she is, led the people in dancing…

The other band performed Luo music and funny enough I really enjoyed it, they had everyone on their feet…

I barely understood any bit but they were entertaining!
stay fabulous!

THE SAFARICOM 7S

I attended the Safaricom Sevens this past weekend. As I have mentioned time and time again, I am a HUGE rugby fan!!There were a couple of events slotted for this past weekend, but my undying love for rugby led me there!!The weather has been super sunny lately and with the African print craze going on, I wore kitenge-print shorts, a slouchy vest, and brogues for the event.I carried a denim jacket that i wore later on in the night...

I wore a lot of Kenyan colored accessories in support of my country. This event was my highest patriotic moment; I felt the undying love and loyalty for my country!
I even had the flag painted on my face. If I could, my blood and insides would probably have been the colors of the Kenyan flag even!
 the Kenyan colored bracelets...
a closer look at the shorts, the vest, the pendant and a Tusker (proudly Kenyan)

Some of the games we watched,

part of the crowd....

We went to sign up on the I am proudly Kenyan(a peace initiative movement)

So many of my friends came looking fabulous (birds of a feather)

Miss Fiona in a two-toned  dress with ruffle details…

Miss Sheila in a striped dress and denim half-coat...

These guys are the brains behind LEDIDA FASHION WEAR,  these are just some of their designs. I had spotted their style from a mile way!!
I loved the African print on the denim shirt, I loved the shoes, his pants, his hair cut, the list is endless!!

a closer look at the print on the shirt and shoes

check out his coat and the shoes!!

check out his coat, the fedora hat….

a closer look at the coat detail...

More friends…

check out her sunglasses her hairstyle and neck piece...

Most men wear simply, especially the rugby players, like my friend Duncan below, the fitting Kenyan jersey, with black trousers. Simple yet stylish…

Later on in the night, my favorite bands performed at the after-party, I was in AWE!!
Camp Mulla on stage...
Sauti Sol on stage...

It was a marvelous weekend, now back to school!

Have an education filled week :-D

The Mingle

I attended the Mingle yesterday, it’s an event for networking and also it's the adults chance to relive their young days(I came a bit late though)
I’ve worn this skirt before, too much love I tell you!i love comfortable free fitting clothes.I picked this outfit,I knew I’d be up and about playing and the sun was out. The culotte's light material and color was just what i wanted.
Diva moments…

I like the unique African print. I was going for a print on print look, the striped top and African print culotte. The denim coat was just to give the outfit  a relaxed feel. The weather was too good to stay at home!(this photo was taken later on in the night, i spent a better part of the day playing)

I added this beaded headband, I’ve let my hair-cut grow out a little bit, I want to rock headbands before I go back to the barber.

Ever since my boda boda ride, I’ve acquired this new obsession for motor bikes. This was the shortest line and I definitely had to go on this one!I  was feeling so cool!ride or die chic(that was playing in my mind the whole time)

My friend Cate rocking it on the wheels...

everyone came looking fabulous and comfortable! i took a few  photos of my friends.

I loved Fiona's  coat, the cheetah prints detail on the elbow...

her purse with some snake-skin detail, her nails looked pretty too...

the sunglasses+ the coat + the lace top+ belt+the purse,

My other friend Alvin, I first loved the colored pants, the Ray Ban aviators, the denim shirt, the sweater

A closer look at the sweater details, layered on top of the denim shirt...

I am a big kwaito music fan!! The DJ started playing and we were on the dance area!

the alcohol started to check in at this point, we'd been drinking since we got to the event hehe

One of my favorite DJs on the wheels of steel...

I must say after here the booze was a bit too much, we ended up going to another club had drinks , and that was pretty much what my camera last saw!the bar counter...

It was a good night though!

great week ahead!
